Yoga and the full awakening of the human being

Josefa Martins2 min read

Yoga is a philosophical system that promotes the full awakening of the Human Being, raising them to their Cosmic Dimension.

In these troubled times of great change at every level (social, economic, the collapse of models of society once taken for granted, and so on), human beings are forced to reflect more seriously on the deeper meaning of things, events, changes, and the difficulties and opportunities of each situation, and to learn from every event in our lives.

However, it is not always easy to find an axis for change, or an anchor for a new situation and its meaning, because this is deeply personal.

Although Yoga cannot be considered a cure-all for every person and situation, if one chooses it, it can bring an integrating spiritual growth, helping to reinterpret life and absorb its lessons, bringing situations back to their true size and finding new, creative ways forward.

The technical disciplines of Yoga prepare the body, the mind and the emotions for new experiences, making normally difficult situations easier to face and resizing them to the new context.

Learning to be happy, calm and in harmony in every situation is the challenge that all of us, as human beings in constant construction and reconstruction, must face and overcome.

Using the opportunity of change to change ourselves from the inside out is certainly a fascinating journey, and it is within our reach. It is always the old question of the glass half full or half empty – we are the ones who choose.

Choose well and practise Yoga.
